GRC began as the research component of Psychiatric Network PC, a large psychiatric group practice. Psychiatric Network PC has years of experience setting up and conducting clinical trials for neuropsychiatric drugs and treatments. Global Research & Consulting is now an independent company offering services to pharmaceutical and individual researchers. The company was founded by Dr Sanjay Gupta and Dr Bradford Frank, both board-certified psychiatrists practicing in Western New York.

GRC's staff includes board-certified psychiatrists, study coordinators, raters with psychometric training, data specialists, and statistical consultants. GRC also provides resources and personnel to train raters, clinical coordinators, and physicians for those who wish to conduct independent research or clinical trials.
